Hearts of Enchantment: Part 2

I'm back with the second part of Hearts of Enchantment! I'll add more parts, i.e. part 3 and 4. It still needs more (I'm hoping to make it into a novella, or novel) but I'm posting what's got. I'm somewhere around 2000 words but it still needs more!

                                                                           * * *
“There, that’s the last of ‘em, Flame.” Wind said as Flame used her power to warm up everything.  The clothes were all folded and in a neat stack in the basket. Wind whipped up a cool breeze that made her hair go wild. Marina’s dark black hair, perfectly set on her shoulders was very unlike Wind’s messy, wavy blond hair. And it was not just because Wind kept all the Air going. Doe shook her own ginger hair neatly tied into a braid that ran down her back. “Who wants ice-cream cones?” she laughed. All the Power Girls shot their hands in the air.

                                                                            * * *

Flame finished the last of the cone. “I love vacation-time!” she sang out. Her dark red hair flamed in the wind as Wind blew a breeze to celebrate. Doe brought bunnies jumping out of the woods. Flame made the sun extra-sunny and Moss threw flower petals in the air. Marina shook droplets in the air, making it slightly wet. The hearts, which were always hung around their necks, began to shine. “What’s happening?” said Marina, very scared. The hearts usually shone for an important reason, which was usually just around the corner. Moss slowly took some pebbles, attracting them to her hand.  Marina got ready with a spray-ish power. Flame prepared balls of heat, while Wind got a stormy gale ready. Doe summoned rabbits, squirrels, and birds to peck and gnaw. The enemy entered the gate-and Doe saw who it was. “Mom!” She nearly dropped the squirrel she was cradling in surprise and fear that she might notice their powers. Her mother took a look at the basket full of laundry. “Spectacular!” her mother said. “How in the whole world did you dry, iron, wash, and fold the clothes?” The girls took this chance to remove all traces of their power. . Doe’s mother looked up-and said, “You girls can go to the tea-shop on Milton Street.” “Okay, thanks Mrs Pearl!” replied Marina hurriedly. They jumped on their bikes and rode off. Moss’s brown hair streamed out behind her, glowing in the sunlight. As they arrived at the tea-shop, their hearts reflected sunlight, and the beams joined as one. They stepped in and sat at a partition quite far in the corner. The waiter came, and they ordered their buns and hot chocolate and whatnot. Then, when the food arrived, Wind whispered, “Do you think we should use our powers more often?” “But only in places where we are safe to use them without anyone noticing us.” Replied Flame. “Wind has a point. We should use them as much as possible. We have a great gift, and we don’t use it well at all!” Moss joined in the conversation.

I'm hoping to hurry up with this, so just wait for more parts!
