Hi - new blog title

So, I changed my blog title. Part of the reason is because I wasn't quite happy with the title; it was from my younger years, after all. AND I wanted it to sound more exciting. Note: my blog URL is still 'mysweetstorydunya.blogspot.com' I had to keep it the same because of some reasons... I hope my new blog title is going to motivate me to keep this blog going!

So, here are some poems I've wrote in the last few days. I just think that I haven't written enough poems since my comeback (really! one!) and need to write more. Some of these poems are just silly, some others don't make any sense. Some others, though, I am proud of. I think it goes for a reason why my English homework got one hundred percent! Ramadan (Limerick) The neighbors get out their fairy lights, A refreshing soup is served in iftar , Some others bend in prayer to their Merciful Lord, People yell, that it is Ramadan, Which ends with Laylatul Qadr, a very special night. Art (List Poem) I am an artist, My painty fingers crawl over the page, I am an artist, My eyes squint at my pencil drawing, I am an artist, I streak the paint over my canvas, I am an artist, My creative conscience takes flight, I am an artist, My pen, in my perspective, grips time and plays with it, I am an artist, The sights that I see are viewed in a different way to me, I am

Ways to enhance your Ramadan

Hiya - I am so excited! In Saudi Arabia Ramadan is tomorrow, and today I am going on Taraweeh! So, I have been looking for ways to make this Ramadan really great, and I came up with a few tips. These include lots of ways to make your Ramadan special and unforgettable. 🌙⭐🌙⭐🌙⭐🌙⭐🌙⭐🌛🌙⭐🌙⭐🌙 TiP #1 Make your Ramadan more special by turning off all social media. Either delete it, disable it, or don't go back to it until Ramadan is finished. You can keep e-mail on and phone calls (yes, yes) but try not to go back to social media at all until Ramadan is finished. TiP #2 Ramadan is a time for devoted prayer. Don't just pray two rakah in the night and say that is your Taraweeh and/or Qiyam-ul-Layl. I usually pray eight rakah for Taraweeh, and at least four for Qiyam-ul-Layl. Also, try to read long surahs (chapters of the Quran). Don't just do this: repeat Al-Kauther, An-Naas, and Al-Asr every night (or any other short surahs). Ramadan is a time for extended prayer

Make a difference: Photography presentation

Image
So how are you all and I'm back? I guess. Anyways, I have been taking some pictures around our dining table, and of course they are Ramadan-influenced since our table has had a 'makeover' and all the other thingies around it as well :P. Anyhow, I have been experimenting with artificial lighting and filters, and I found out that if I alter the photos a little bit, it can create pretty dramatic effects. And I am so excited for Ramadan; squee! I know it's pretty close, only a couple days, but it seems so far away! All the photographs in this presentation are taken with a iPhone. Imagine you are sitting in a room and a flash of colored light makes its display, catching the true spirit of Ramadan. This has had a filter, yes, but nothing other then that. Oh, I'm so excited! I took this picture because I wanted to capture the real spirit of Ramadan. Also, my interpretation of this is that when you shine your own light, you can make a difference in the world, even i

A descripitive piece of writing: Lost

Yes, here's another descriptive piece of writing. This is a short one which reflects on my latest poem and I really wanted to turn that into a story I guess? 8D I wanted to use three words (again) words that would inspire me, words that haunt and vividly describe my story. I really like challenging myself to write descriptive pieces with three to five words to describe it. I have no idea why I have a sudden overtaking to change that poem into a short story excerpt. So anyways, let's see what's simmering in my pot..... The words are death, friend and lone. _________________________________________________________________________________ "You must come, you must! Why can't you unlock the door that keeps us apart? Are you holding the key in your hand?" Yes, I am, but I do not wish to reply. "Can't you hear my cries?" Oh, yes, I do. But why should I answer to those who have been so negligent? "You were my shield! I am never safe

Lost

This is a poem, because I know I haven't posted any poetry in forever! Warning: This poem is not for the fainthearted because its sad...its actually the first sad poem I've ever wrote. I just felt like I needed to write a sad poem because my next short story is going to be on this topic. Why did you leave me all alone? Why did your moonbeam go? Trying to summon your ghost, Why can’t you show your face once more? Why can’t you run back to me? Cause you were my guardian, My everlasting companion, Or was I wrong all along? Were you just a shadow? Pretending to be my other half of my soul, You were the person who kept me going, Now I need you back, Real or not I need you back, I’m sinking down in the depths of the ocean, Lost in the caves, never to return, Wandering in the forests lost and alone, I want you back! Why can’t you soar back to me once more? I need to see your smile, Why? Don’t you like me anymore? Why can’t we embrace each

Wow, I'm a AWESOME chef, it turns out!

Ahem, ahem. Up there is my best sarcasm I could find for the title. Anyways, I'm going to be sharing with you my own recipes. I know that I shared two posts like this a long time ago, but I wanted to modify them. So, I have one or two of the same recipes but the rest are different, and can actually be made. I don't have a gurantee that these will work though, (wink wink) and I certainly do not  recommend you to try them! Chicken Whipper Salad You will need:  -Three big lettuce leaves -A big pita  -Mozzeralla cheese -Swiss cheese -Cold cooked chicken (nothing added) -Lemon juice -Olive oil -Zaatar -Sumak Method: Lay the lettuce leaves at the bottom of your dish. In a seperate bowl, mix lemon juice, olive oil, zaatar and sumak. Melt half of the mozzeralla cheese in a saucepan. Shred up the rest of the cheese (swiss and mozzeralla) and add it to another bowl. Now shred the chicken and add it to the cheese bowl. Tear up the pita into small piec

What my new (sudden) passion is

So, you might have noticed that I changed my blog (again) because I wanted to change a lot of things and you can see what I changed. Anyway, I changed my blog to reflect on my new passion; photography! I want to be a photographer because it is interesting to take photographs, ones that tell a story. One thing about me is, whenever I see a photograph, I can picture a scene in my head with that picture and watch it play through my mind. I have to nearly always heavily edit any photographs I take, whether it's selfies, landscapes, portraits, anything really. I like to edit because sometimes if you edit it correctly, you can bring out the real 'special' in the picture that you want and you weren't able to get it. But sometimes if you edit it too much or too little, the flavor of the picture is lost and you can't achieve the overall greatness that you wanted. Of course, there are times when you don't need to edit since the photograph is raw and beautiful and qui
