My Self-Portrait!

Image
I drew A self-portrait of myself on Paint. Here it is! This is SO cool. It looks just like me in a cartoonish way. The clothing is a shirt with a short skirt and pants underneath. I really do have bob-cut hair but I don't usually tie it with ribbons. Super cool, eh? If you look closely, very closely, by clicking on the pic to see it in full-screen mode, you will see I used the pencil for the eyelashes. Yay!

Art Of Excellence!

Art Of Excellence from Umm Subhana

Be who you Are

I am who I am, And you are who you are, We're all different in some ways, Yet you think you are the same, It's just because, You want to be the same as everyone else, You don't want to be yourself, Don't try to be the same, \You'll just end up in vain, Be who you are, Be yourself, Don't be someone who you aren't, Try to be who you are, That's only the key, To succeed!

Art for Kids Hub!

Image
I am going to be reviewing the channel named "Art for Kids Hub'. Here, a dad draws, paints, sculpts, and does origami with... his children! Their names are: Jack (nicknamed Chuckers) who is age 11, Hadley (nicknamed Hads) who is age 8, Austin (nicknamed Austa-wasta-mc-pasta) who is age 6. They also have a toddler named Olivia but she's only a year old. I have included a playlist of some videos I think you'll like. If you like these, be sure to check out the channel for more amazing stuff! Anyways, the reason why I like this channel is because if I am drawing kind of bad, the younger children do kind of good. And I say to myself, "I can do just as good as them!'. And it gives me strength. I like using this channel because it teaches art very good. I hope you will use it too!

Wild Explorers

Image
↖ Wild Explorers is a fun show that I really love. It showcases a girl, named Cami, who shows you how to make cool crafts, splendid science experiments, and tells you about animals. She does crafts like you will never believe, such as Magnetic Slime, Make Your Own Watercolors, and more. Oops, I forgot not to give any spoilers! Also, there is something I wanted to mention. I have included this show in a post before but I only mentioned it briefly. So, I thought as I love this show so much, I should make a post about it! Anyways, I have included a playlist of all the videos up there in the corner. You really should check it out because it is quite educational. Also, it is fun to watch at the same time! She meets a lot of animals in the show and, she is giving very detailed descriptions at the same time! So, I hope you benifited from reading this post. Hopefully you will check out the playlist and also have a lot of fun watching the videos!

Websites and Channels for Kids!

Here are some of the places I recommend for kids: Nat Geo Kids This is a wonderful website teaching kids a LOT of things. Also check out it's YouTube channel, which is pretty much same as the website. Wild Explorers The section of the Animal Jam channel "Wild Explorers" is really something to watch. A girl teaches you fun science experiments, cool crafts, and about animals. Sometimes she brings wild animals into her show. Note: There is only a SECTION of the channel for "Wild Explorers". The rest is for Animal Jam. Sorry this post was mainly reviews but I just wanted to recommend these places to you!

Three Cups Of Tea

Image
Three Cups Of Tea is a inspirational, non-fiction book. It follows a man, Greg Mortenson when he gets lost in a climb to K2 and, trying to find his way back to the city, he finds himself in a small village, called "Korphe". When he arrives there, he is shocked to see no school. Greg promises to come back with supplies. When he built the school in Korphe, he started building schools in other villages. He has endured death threats, a kidnapping, and more to dedicate his life to building literacy and peace, one child at a time. There is something I must share from the book. With the first cup of tea you are a stranger. With the second....a friend. With the third cup of tea, you are family.

What Katy Did

Image
I recently read this book called "What Katy Did". This is a wonder-filled book which names the main character, Katy, who lives in a family of 6 children. Her father is often away, and her mother is dead, so her Aunt Izzie came to take care of the children. Katy is the oldest. Falling from a swing seems to banish her dreams for the future-but the book has a really happy ending. It has been a long time since I have read a book such beautifully crafted as this. In fact, when I had just finished it, I felt that I needed to read it again that very minute. Some hints for finding the book: The book is available in many different covers The author is Susan Coolidge     I hope you benifited from reading this review! Please check my other reviews!

My Dictionary!

Here is my dictionary. These words are actually some that I have made up and have been using in my lifetime.  Some of them you might find difficult to understand, but I have included the words they were built from, their meaning and their history. 1. Everyalist. Meaning: a person who dabbles in different kinds of arts, like martial arts, sewing, singing, etc. Some people are more close in becoming everyalists than others. History: I used to be in a hotel on some kind of vacation. I really loved the mirror that was there and I used to do different things in front of it and then I began calling myself an everyalist. Word/words it was built from: "Every" and "Journalist" 2. Hayoo Meaning: A greeting pronounced very lightly. History; I used to play with my birds and to announce my arrival, I always said "Hayoo!" Phrases/words it was built from: "Hey" and "How are you?" That's all! I just wanted to tell ever

I'm back again....... and blogging!

Sorry I have not posted anything for like, four days! There had been a big storm on Tuesday and our transformer tripped. So I had to stay in a hotel until now. Anyways, I want to do something pretty interesting which I will either start in 1st of December, or 1st of January. If anyone has done this they can give me tips/hints about what I am doing.  I want to start bullet journaling. I do think it would be interesting, and it might help me plan out timetables and keep me really organized. I thought it would be really cool to do this, because, well, it might be fun to try and start something new that would probably change how I do things at the moment, and it would give me a chance to be more productive. It also might be a little bit fun to explore my free time and set goals and really organize them. Setting targets might also help me use my free time better. Plus, I would love to organize events for myself: friend meet-ups, pet playtime, etc. If you have any tips to just boost me

Autumn

Autumn is the time when harvest time draws nigh*, And the autumn moon rises high, And each plant opens to give their share, With ripened fruit to bear, See the swallows flying south, See the squirrels storing their acorns for spring's mouth, See the rabbits in their holes, See the tunnels dug by moles, Look at the leaves drifting away, A cold wind is blowing today, All the colors with faint hints of green, Look so beautiful to be seen, But soon winter will arrive, And the leaves and trees will no longer survive. * close, Old English

Book Review!

Image
I thought I would share with you this book, called "The Complete Horse and Rider". All you need is a horse, and this book! This is a truly well-written book, showing you how to groom, ride, tack up, competitions such as cross-country, and much more! (sorry if you are not familiar with some of the terms). I personally loved it, and this is a MUST for any horse lover! Not to mention that I am one :D. Anyways, I think this is a wonderful book. More reviews comin' up, so stay tuned!

Tawaf Trouble

Tawaf Trouble Haya Masood emerged from the crowd and stepped on the ground. This was the 18 year old’s first Tawaf. Her brother had already done it and started his Hajj. He was in the mosque right now. She started looking for the starting point. Haya walked towards the green light. She didn’t know that it was a phone flash reflecting green light. She saw many more flashes, and then got confused. Suddenly a woman stopped her and said, “Sweetie, you can start your Hajj here.” You should have seen Haya, so red-faced! She started circling the Kaabah. Her legs were so tired after a few minutes, she could barely breath, and she was so annoyed by this little boy who kept bumping into her. And she hadn’t even finished her first round because the crowd was moving like a snail.   All of a sudden, the crowd parted with a jerk. She stumbled but managed to keep her footing.   She moved to the side FAST because she could fe

Bake-It's Semi-Finals!

Bake-It’s Semi-Finals!   Hibiscus had never felt more nervous. This was the semi-finals and there was only 4 girls left. They were, Hibiscus, Katy, Amaya, and Milly.   They lined up at the stations and fastened their aprons. “Your time starts….NOW!” shouted Sarah. Hibiscus rushed to the pantry. She needed to bake some kind of cookie and she had decided it was going to be a shortbread cookie. She grabbed all the ingredients. Hibiscus sprinted over to her station. Fast, fast, I can do this, she thought. Quickly she slid the tray into the oven.                                                                                ……………………..       After 10 minutes, she took it out. She iced the cookies and arranged them on a plate. As she was done with her cookies, she glanced at the others. They were not far behind. Just then, a tick sounded. “Everyone, stop!” shouted Rose. “Katy first.” Katy walked up. Hibiscus watched her closely. She heard compliments and she saw nodding

Some of the things I want to do later in life

I want to do/be a lot of things. I am really crazy about animals, cooking, horses, and I think my future will be in them. Some of my dreams: 1. To be a Olympics horse riding champion. 2. To be the next MASTERCHEF JUNIOR. 3. To be a vet. 4. To be a pet shop owner. 5. To run a international club of raising awareness called FEA (Fight for Endangered Animals). 6. To be a Olympics archery champion. These are some of the things I want to do/be!

My Dream Garden

My garden would be peaceful, a perfect place to relax. It would have a BIG fountain in the corner that ran into a small pond. Inside the pond would be various types and colors of small fish. There would be a cherry tree and a willow tree in another corner. My garden would have different types of flowers, including hibiscuses, tulips, poppies, cream roses, and many more. There would be a swing, with the seats' handles shaped like wings, and the place to sit on would be cushioned with fluffy pieces of wool glued to the seat. There would be a open patch of grass, with morning-glories. It would be a perfect spot for a picnic. Many types of different, beautiful birds would nest in my trees.                                                           My garden would be memorable                                                                      for years to come.

A Card!

Image
I made a card for my phuppo and phuppa (relatives we call in our language) when they were coming from umrah. I wrote "Umrah Mubarak" on green paper and cut it out, but it is not very visible in the picture. I used shape punchers as well and I stuck the pieces together with UHU glue. Here is what it looks Like from the inside. Again the picture is not very good but it is a heart pop-up card. I decorated with shape punchers and stuck them with UHU like I did for the outside of the card. I decorated the inside with glittery gel pens as well. The only colors I used for the paper were lilac, pale yellow and green. I am really pleased with the outcome of the card and I have never made a pop-up card by myself before. (I had made one when I was 6 or 7 I think but I used the help of my mom). Overall, I think it is a gorgeous card.

Snow Snowflakes touch the sky, Never fear, for they just drift and fly, Oh the beauty of the fallen snow With grace, it falls. Flowers Flowers decorate this world, Lots of them in the meadows, Oh, the beauty of the petals, Why do we not stop and see, Everyone rushes by, Replicas of true beauty lay waiting to be inspected, So lets admire them. Sun So hot is the sun, Up in the sky, Not a bit of pity it has for us. Leaves Leaves drift along the breeze, Everyone is bundled up in a sweater, And the leaves drift away where no one sees, Very cold, these leaves are not, Eh, they will soon die in this weather, Spring comes, and they will grow back again. Note: I have tried to define the for seasons in this order: Winter, Spring, Summer, Fall.

Limericks

Here is a limerick I wrote: I dream of a world, With water clean, The grass so green, With birds in the trees, And with leaves no longer curled. And here is another: Sparkling beauty, Dripping from leaves, Are dewdrops, So wet so clean, It's their duty. And another: Fish swimming in pollouted waters, Makes my heart break, But it's time to make a change, Let's take away all that goop, And lets clear up the clutters. A limerick is a poem with 5 lines, the first rhyming with the last.

Some of the tricky origami models that I have made this week!

Image
Here are some super tricky models. I am probably not going to teach you all of them! Here is a iris. This is one of the tricky models that I have mastered. Here is a traditional one, the crane. I made it for the first time.       Hoot, hoot! This owl model is of a medium difficulty level.

Updates!

First, I'm planning to add more origami. I love origami so I'm going to teach all of you how to do it. I love making tricky models, but I will show you the easier ones first. Second, I will be conducting a lot of polls and then you all have a chance to vote.

Origami Flower

Image
I love origami, and I love making tricky models. Here is one of the easiest but one of the prettiest model I have learned: the origami flower. You will need a square piece of paper. I am looking for the special origami paper that is already cut into a square beforehand. But, you can use A4 paper and cut it into a square. First, you fold the paper in half diagnolly: Next, you fold it the other way diagnolly: You fold the corners into the middle: Fold the corners into the middle. You have to repeat this 2 times. Now do a flap fold on each of the outer petals: Flap fold the inner petals as well: And your flower is done!

Destiny............Skye's friend!

Image
Here is a budgie friend for Skye, named Destiny! Destiny is a female budgie and I got her yesterday. I had been noticing Skye was looking lonely recently so I decided to get a budgie friend for him. In case you didn't know, I had a friend for Skye, named Lily. I actually bought them both together. But Lily died after only a few weeks. Thus, Skye became really lonely so yesterday I bought Destiny. I got a new cage as well because the other one was broken. So this white budgie with light blue spots means a lot to Skye! I just hope Destiny and Skye mate. Then I can have eggs and they will hatch into baby budgies! Most of all, I hope Destiny survives! Skye is actually really happy now :-).

Q/A with................myself!

Warrior Cats Club.

Me and my friends have a cat's club. We really have went into it, with a anthem and a password and jobs and a mascot and who knows what else......................................................................................... The name came from a book series I'm reading lately. "Warrior Cats". Everyone has a job in the club. I am the leader although I don't like to say I am 'cause I don't want them to be hurt. Dealing with our enemies sort of gives us confidence and determination. Ok, you want to know what we do in it right? So we just take care of the cats and try to figure out all their problems and to solve 'em. Our anthem is based on this and  so is our password. All of us want a cat but our parents don't allow. So we try to make a bond with the cats and try to speak their language. So this is the summary of Warrior Cats Club.

Digital Art for the millionth time................................

Here are more pictures. (In a 3 of course). Click on each picture to see it in full-screen mode. Enjoy! This is a eskimo I made. I was really inspired by the fur lining around their clothes, so I made one. Here is a cat I made. I decided to call it Rosie. The heat in Jeddah is unspeakable. I had bought a watermelon too. So it's time to draw one! I keep changing my blog background! (I can't stick to 1 background for long!)

Snowflakes tumble down, Right to the ground, It's time for winter, A special season that everyone can enjoy, We can go snowboarding, We can go sledding, We can have a snowball fight, We can build a snowman, And when we are done with all that, We'll go inside, Bundling up in front of the fire, While Daddy's putting snow chains on the tires, We'll go to the skating rink, Where we will skate with a tiny wink, And when we will go back to our house, We'll will be in our beds as cozy as a mouse. Not to say, it doesn't snow here in Jeddah. I don't know why I am writing this :P

Digital art again!

Image
So here's your digital art. I don't know why I am always posting them in 3s but I do. This one is kind of inspired by something I saw on the blog Maryam's Timeout. www.maryamstimeout.blogspot.com Skye, my beloved pet! It kind of looked like a teepee before I colored it and added the catchlights. Just the details I guess. This one really focuses on my pen name. It just shows a girl daydreaming and the Blogger icon.         That is enough drawings for today!

And more digital art.........................

Image
I know, I know, I just really really love Paint. So it's showtime! Ok, this one took forever. Drawing all those little lines for the rain and filling it all up. But I wanted to show one of the forces of nature. This strawberry milkshake wasn't that good. But I really love the strawberries.:) The girl does look kind of cute. But the dress does flop a bit. Anyways........... They're all pretty awesome!

If you had time............

I wrote this list poem to make people realize the value of time. Oh, if you had time, You would be the richest in the world, Oh, if you had time, You would keep it as safe as gold, Oh, if you had time, Only then you would realize it's measure, Oh, if you had time, Then you would see the treasure, Oh, if you had time, You would know the worth, Oh, if you had time, You would consider it more preceois than solid earth, Oh, if you had time, Oh, if you had time, Oh, if you had time.

How it all started...............

You might have been wondering, "Why did she start this blog?" Well, here I am to tell you. So here you go............ I started this blog because I was often bored and watched iPad or iPhone throughout the day. My mom had a blog already, and when one day we were talking about her blog, she said, "Why don't you start a blog of your own?" And with her help, I started my blog. Having this blog gives me a chance to explore my interests and be creative. Here are some other blogs you might enjoy. I have a riddle!

I have a riddle for you. I am going to wait until I get at least 5 answers, and then I will close entry and see who got the closest or spot-on. Here is it! What flits around in the dark on the sly, Who grabs a piece of prey to eat, and chases a butterfly, With a hooked mouth it gobbles it up, And then swallows and slurps, Then it flies back to look for a new meal, With a new, different feel, Can you guess who am I, Who am I? I will announce the winner in the comments. The winner will get a special comment on each of his/her posts. The process of commenting on the winner's blog will take at least a week. If the winner doesn't have a blog, he/she will still be having a winner comment on this post. .P.S. I forgot to say you will need to tell your answer in the comments.

My Blog Background!

Image
Recently I have been tweaking my blog's background around a bit. I wasn't really liking any of them so I decided to upload a image I had got in Paint. It's quite simple really, just hearts of different colors and my favorite color (sky blue) as the background. I just think that it really suits the style of my blog, simple but elegant/interesting. I just needed to change it because my other backgrounds wouldn't suit the blog or me. Because the blog is mine I decided to make it look like me. I thought first: Why not use my favorite shape, the razor? I tried but it just didn't work. So I stuck with a classic girly shape, the heart. This worked all right and then I changed the background, which looked prettier than I thought it would! So I'll stick with this background. Feedback is always welcome. Here is the real picture that I used.

Readers and Writers Club!

Yesterday I went to a Readers And Writers Club that happens every Wednesday. This was the first meeting of the club and of course, my first experience of it. We just played a game which was called "Create A Story" which you can purchase on Amazon. It is currently unavailable but they had it. Also, I really liked the teacher and she was very nice. All the time me and my mom were in the club, my 4-year-old brother was playing with another 4-year-old upstairs. The family that is hosting it is very nice. It was a truly memorable experience for my first time at RWC! I can't wait to attend the next one InshaAllah!

I just read a inspirational quote on my clothes tag. Free Spirit Wild Heart Have Fun Laugh Plenty

Cake-it. Second attempt

Image
Cake-It               Second Attempt   It was the day. Again. Last time Hibiscus had been in the Cake-It kitchen with flying colours. Now was the second test. Hibiscus was at her station with her pretty red apron. She was ready. “Your time starts………..NOW!” Shouted Sara, a judge of the bake-off. Hibiscus rushed to the pantry with all the other competiters. They had to make some kind of oven-cooked pasta. She raced to grab some penne, cheese, sausage, and ingredients for béchamel sauce. She raced back to her station. She started cutting up the sausage. But cooking the penne was a hard task. She had only 45 minutes to make it. The penne was done in 15 minutes. She started on the béchamel sauce. This took 5 minutes. She mixed all the ingredients in a bowl. She sprinkled cheese over the top and stuck it in the oven. There were only 10 minutes left.                              … 5 minutes later, she slid it out. She quickly put a serving on a plate. 1 minute left. “

Cake-It's Great Bake-Off

Image
This is a story of 407 words that is going to be the start of my series "Cake-it". So stay tuned cause I am going to release more!     It was the day of Cake-It’s   Great   Bake-Off. Everyone was talking about it, and millions of tickets were bought. Hibiscus, one of the competiters, didn’t feel that excited. She had never been great at baking. Cake-It   was one of the world’s top leading kitchens, and she was going to compete right there! She felt really nervous.   There were butterflies in her stomach. This was only the first clash. There would be more until it was one to one. Suddenly a voice came through the speakers. “Will everyone please walk into the kitchen?” Hibiscus came second out of the doors. She was given her apron that she had brought with her, but her name was sewn on the top.   “You have one hour to make us a beautiful, never seen before cake.” One of the judges, Rose, said into the mic. “Your time starts…NOW!” Quick
