A story
This is just a short story I've written, which is reflecting on spring because it's coming up soon :). It's more something of a story/poem mixture because, well, the descriptions are vivid and easy to shape in front of you.
SECRETS OF SPRING
_________________________________________________________________________________
Winter was flying by, and the last few days of it arrived. I was excited for spring because I loved to have all picnics in the Forever free forest. And, I loved watching baby birds and making bird feeders. One frosty morning, when I was mowing the lawn, I saw wind carry some little twigs away. It still hasn't gone yet, I thought with a sigh. The next morning was chilly. The morning after that was shiver-y, but that was the first morning of spring! I decided to take a walk. Quick as a whirlwind, I rushed inside the house.
I grabbed cheese and bread and started making sandwiches. Then, I put a bottle of lemonade into the basket. I added a cinnamon bun and some sprinkles with cream, then I was ready! Not quite. I shot upstairs and grabbed my binoculars, my nature notepad, and my pencil. Then, as fast as a peregrine falcon*, I rushed outside the house. It was peaceful outside.
I decided to take a walk to the forest. I saw buds blooming up in every direction. That's one of the secrets of spring, I thought. Fluffy clouds with a sun amongst them looked like marshmellows. The shining leaves hung with dewdrops. I decided that this might be the best spring day ever.
*the fastest animal in the world. Also my favorite bird, in the world.
