A piece of writing
Hai! So this is just a short story which came in my mind. I wanted to think of a story with three words, ones that would actually make up a story. This isn't really a story, it's just my imagination running wild to be honest! So, this piece of writing is a little..me and is a bit poetic because...why not? So here we are!
The words are summer, lake and night.
A Summer Night

I walked in the long grass, watching up at the purple sky for any chance of a summer crescent. A small star twinkled high above me, giving a small pinprick of light to the evening. The few clouds that were there parted, letting what was behind it show its face to the world. I caught sight of a small sliver of moon, and I smiled. A fresh, swirling breeze started to make its journey through the meadow, and I broke out into a run. I felt my long, black hair fan out and blow in the wind while each stride of my unsuspected run was a high, joyful leap.
The world was nothing but a light feather that drifted in front of my eyes, as my cares flew off my mind. A hare or two might have stared at me in astonishment, at me laughing and running so fast. I slowly grew tired, and I let myself slow down, and skid to a stop among the grass. The summer heat overtook me, and made me feel thirsty.
I walked along slowly, hoping to find a source of water. Suddenly, I saw a lake, flowing on ahead. I took my last bits of energy and jogged to the banks. I ran my fingers through the water, cool and silky, reversing the curse of summer's night. I drank water and sat on the bank and put my legs into the water, letting myself immerse in the water.
***
I felt like I needed to go home now, as it was growing darker and the night was growing deeper. I picked myself up, put on my flip flops, and walked home, catching sight of a nightly cat prowling in the grass every now and then.
I was just in time to hear nature's orchestra, as nightingales struck up a song behind me. I left them behind, walking on home. As soon as I reached, I opened up the door of my house, then changed into my pajamas and slid into bed thinking, What a lovely summer night....
The words are summer, lake and night.

I have no idea why the ending is so vague...
