Make a difference: Photography presentation
So how are you all and I'm back? I guess. Anyways, I have been taking some pictures around our dining table, and of course they are Ramadan-influenced since our table has had a 'makeover' and all the other thingies around it as well :P. Anyhow, I have been experimenting with artificial lighting and filters, and I found out that if I alter the photos a little bit, it can create pretty dramatic effects. And I am so excited for Ramadan; squee! I know it's pretty close, only a couple days, but it seems so far away!
All the photographs in this presentation are taken with a iPhone.
Imagine you are sitting in a room and a flash of colored light makes its display, catching the true spirit of Ramadan. This has had a filter, yes, but nothing other then that. Oh, I'm so excited! I took this picture because I wanted to capture the real spirit of Ramadan. Also, my interpretation of this is that when you shine your own light, you can make a difference in the world, even if its only a small one.
You might be wondering why I took this photograph. To begin with, I had an idea that when somebody goes out and looks at the world around them and sees all the unrest around them, they can step out of their cozy, secluded, free of non-peaceful acts home, and actually see the world as it really is and make a difference somehow. This is why I took this picture. When you look out through your curtains and see the dark world around you, you can shine your positive light and change the world.
This one does have a filter, but it doesn't really make a real change to the photograph; it just makes the light-bulb glow brighter. The interpretation of this picture (at least, what I think) is that when you have an idea, (which is the light-bulb) you do make some effect on civilization. Even if you don't think it's happening, it actually is.
No, this one has no filters. It's not edited at all. This was created by shining my torch on the wall. I have many meanings for this photo, but let's see what other meanings you can come up with. One is that if you are different and are blue fire instead of everyday red fire, you can and will make even the smallest difference. When people are different in manners or speech, people will become influenced by them. Which overall means that you should be careful of how you differentiate people or yourself depending on the people you hang out with.
This is a little more complicated. Yes, this has had one filter to make it grey, but what I wanted to convey from this picture is that when you look at the past and you look at now, you see that there is indeed a huge difference. You have to congratulate artists, astronomers, inventors, and scholars for shaping and making a difference to the world we know today.
Excuse my hand up there. This has no filters, by the way. What I wanted to say is that when you catch fire from a positive or negative influence, you can put it out so it only damages a little of yourself, or you can leave it so it changes you completely. This is a little same as the other one which also used my torch, but it has a slightly different meaning. Choose whether the influence is good or bad for you. It can make you different from who you are now.
At first I didn't know why I was taking this picture. Then a sentence from a book (I don't remember the name) hit me, 'Nothing comes on a silver platter.' And in a flash I realized that you never receive something exactly how you'd like it to be. It always will be just a little different from what you expected and if you want to make it different, make it different! If it's nice and fine and you don't want to change it, leave it!
So, this is my photography presentation (my first ever). I hope you liked it! If you want to see any more of my upcoming posts subscribe to me blog!
