Ways to enhance your Ramadan

Hiya - I am so excited! In Saudi Arabia Ramadan is tomorrow, and today I am going on Taraweeh! So, I have been looking for ways to make this Ramadan really great, and I came up with a few tips. These include lots of ways to make your Ramadan special and unforgettable.

TiP #1

Make your Ramadan more special by turning off all social media. Either delete it, disable it, or don't go back to it until Ramadan is finished. You can keep e-mail on and phone calls (yes, yes) but try not to go back to social media at all until Ramadan is finished.

TiP #2

Ramadan is a time for devoted prayer. Don't just pray two rakah in the night and say that is your Taraweeh and/or Qiyam-ul-Layl. I usually pray eight rakah for Taraweeh, and at least four for Qiyam-ul-Layl. Also, try to read long surahs (chapters of the Quran). Don't just do this: repeat Al-Kauther, An-Naas, and Al-Asr every night (or any other short surahs). Ramadan is a time for extended prayer.

TiP #3

Remember to spend your time in Ramadan wisely. After praying Dhuhr or Fajr, don't just lounge on the sofa and watch television - no. And don't run off to go somewhere not Islamic-related. Read books, keep journals, listen to Islamic lectures, write essays or stories, even exercise - all this is spending time wisely. Also, don't let your baby brother get on the keyboard while you are writing a blog post otherwise he will just spam your posts. >:3

TiP #4

Try to go to the masjid if possible. Try to pray every rakah over there. And don't try to sit on your phone and relax in the back while people are praying.

TiP #5

Try and conduct sessions for little kids (i.e, 5-8 years old) to consume some of your time. Try and remember that you have to teach them about Islamic things, such as fasting, prayer, and Ramadan.
(I actually have one today. I'll share the result with you afterwards!)

So, I hope that this will help you make this Ramadan even more special!!
