Enchantment: Backstory excerpt 3/3

Hey there again! Here is the (unplanned) excerpt for Lynn Kaylie! I'm most proud of this one and I really love the concept. Here are the excerpts in order: Lynn, Madeline, and Lillian. This excerpt is mostly told in Lynn's own thoughts and is actually a real backstory, not like the other two excerpts! Her real name is Evelynn (I was considering Lyndsey for one but I like this more) but in the basic story, they just call her Lynn. Code name: Kaylie. So yeah, let's get on with the story!

Lynn hid behind the castle and relived the darkest hour of her life.

There was once a little girl. Her name was Evelynn. She lived in the middle of the deep dark woods with her father, the only person she knew.

One day, her father called her. He was in bed. “Lynn,” he said, holding up an amulet. “Take this and go to Parallel. Fight the darkness and survive.”

And Lynn’s father closed his eyes.

Lynn was heartbroken. But she went out with her prized spear, and hid behind the house. Darkness fell, like a black curtain, suddenly. She went a bit further than the house – and found out she was glowing with light. Everything was dark.

A sleek white ribbon flashed by her, and she backed away. It appeared behind her, and she let out a bloodcurdling scream.

Then she remembered what she had told her father. I will fight the darkness and survive. She grasped hold of the amulet, and crept through the forest. Silently, swiftly.

She lashed out at the white blurs that slipped in front of her. The light started to dawn.
Her eyes focused, and she saw the sun and the end of the forest. If I am the last human being on earth, she thought, I will be brave.

And she broke the darkness and emerged into the light.

Her feet took her to the large, carved wooden door. Her hand rested on the handle and it twisted. A guard stood in front of her. She had long, brownish-blond hair, a black cat-suit, and in her hand was an ivory dagger.

Lynn took a deep breath. “Naomi, take me to Maiden Rosy.”

Yeah, this kinda explains a lot of stuff, doesn't it? xD I've been keeping you in the dark for all too long. I will be back with another excerpt which will no doubt be longer and explain a whole lot more stuff as well. Gudbai!
