Lost

This is a poem, because I know I haven't posted any poetry in forever! Warning: This poem is not for the fainthearted because its sad...its actually the first sad poem I've ever wrote. I just felt like I needed to write a sad poem because my next short story is going to be on this topic.

Why did you leave me all alone?

Why did your moonbeam go?

Trying to summon your ghost,

Why can’t you show your face once more?

Why can’t you run back to me?

Cause you were my guardian,

My everlasting companion,

Or was I wrong all along?

Were you just a shadow?

Pretending to be my other half of my soul,

You were the person who kept me going,

Now I need you back,

Real or not I need you back,

I’m sinking down in the depths of the ocean,

Lost in the caves, never to return,

Wandering in the forests lost and alone,

I want you back!

Why can’t you soar back to me once more?

I need to see your smile,

Why?

Don’t you like me anymore?

Why can’t we embrace each other as we used to do?

I want to relive those memories,

Bring back time.

Can’t you see me one more time?

Don’t you hear my screams?

Don’t you see these trickling tears?

Have you forgotten all about me?

Why can’t we unlock the door that keeps us separated?

Are you holding the key in your hand?

Why can’t we laugh as we used to do?

Don’t you hear my cries?

Come back to me,
