Just A Year - short story
Hey guys! Long time no post, I know :/ I'll be telling you a story today, one that popped in my head in the middle of nowhere. :D I read a quote in A Series Of Unfortunate Events btw: "So he's real? I always thought he was a legendary figure, like unicorns or Giuseppe Verdi." ~Count Olaf. I love that xD
This is a series of unfortunate events short fanfic, but even if you haven't read or watched that, it's pretty easy to understand!

I hesitated as she trudged along the matte sidewalk. Me and my siblings Klaus, Sunny and adopted sister Beatrice had recently discovered that some old friends; Quagmire triplets Isadora, Quigley and Duncan; had shifted close to their house and wanted to surprise them immediately. Sunny had cooked a meal, and Klaus had sent over three books.
It had been decided that I was going to take the tray, and the others would come round later.
I opened the gate tentatively with one hand, and looked at the house. Its white bricks were a solid foundation and the chocolate-brown roof was good shelter, but the dwelling was relatively small.
I walked up the front steps, each footstep a light thud! as her tray swayed slightly. It's now or never, I thought, biting my lip. And the doorbell rang. Ding! This might change all our lives.
"Hello?" A quiet voice, one that she had often heard reciting poetry rang out in the air. "Isadora?" I asked, trying to keep my tone as even as possible. The door was suddenly flung open wide.
I managed to get a glimpse of the sixteen-year-old sprinting away, fast as lightning. "Quigley! Duncan!" she yelled. She certainly hasn't changed. I was caught unaware as all three triplets came dashing to me. I laid the tray down on the sidewalk as they enveloped me in a giant group hug.
"How did you...where were you..." The questions spilled over each other, as we tried to get them to the other's listening ears. "Come!" I managed to choke out at last. I looked for a hand that I could grab and run off with, and it brushed against Quigley's. My hand decided to yank it, and I ran off to our house, not even noticing the stampede rushing behind me.
I opened the door, forgetting about the tray. That wasn't important! I saw Sunny sliding down the banisters, momentarily reminding me of the ersatz elevator that we had encountered at 667 Dark Avenue. Bea was clambering down as quickly as she could, her three-year figure almost toppling over by a running Klaus, and we hugged once more. Only this time, it was seven people.
"I think we've got some explaining to do." Sunny laughed, glancing down at Beatrice.

Yeah, so this is it! Yeah, there might be a few references that you may not understand, but this should be understandable.
