Ember Rising - book review

 Hey, sorry for the inactivity! I might be even less active during the school year, but honestly, who knows. I'll try to post at least once or twice a month, and I have tons of book reviews to write, because I have nothing else notable to post right now. *makes snoring sounds*

Here's my review of Ember Rising. I hope it's worth the wait!

Who knew a bunch of bunnies could make such an impression? I didn't, until I found The Green Ember. This is the third installment in this not-able-to-explain-with-adjectives series. 


Of course, following the cliffhanger of the next book (I guessed who was doing that, did you?) the story begins with Heather's POV. Now this is getting a bit repetitive. The past two books have also started with her point of view. I think I just need more Picket in this.

Okay...now, onto story...

It is as usual, awesome. At very tense points, I'm pretty sure I was holding my breath, literally. The story was much longer than the others, but it was worth it. 

Some new protagonists and antagonists are introduced, my personal favorite of the new characters being Weezie. Yay. We needed more female characters, imo, and Weezie delivers everything we needed. (Plus the new villains. Oh, how I hate the new villains, but you're supposed to hate them, so...)

I found Emma's character development interesting, especially the fact that she doesn't want her new responsibility. It gives her character more depth, and seems to fit.

Finally, the cliffhanger. Now, anybody who knows me knows that I detest cliffhangers as much as I love them. This is the biggest. Cliffhanger. Yet. I remember the night I finished the book, I went to sleep thinking of five words: "Her eyes widened with wonder." I mean, even though it was the kind of cliffhanger that has a character literally about to die, I was sooooooo happy. I decoded the meaning almost immediately.

City Spies - book review

 Hey! For some reason lately I've really been into espionage fiction - and when my Audible credit came up I chose this book. This is also, coincidentally, the first not-fantasy book I've read for a while, and it was nice to take a break from the genre. The cover looked pretty cool and who can miss out on such a diverse cast of main characters? I was not let down by any of it. City Spies was so fun and thrilling that I made up a joke to describe the ride to my friends. Joke below. Me: I should really get some sleep. Ten hours at least. Also me at three in the morning: OMG THIS BOOK IS SO EXCITING SLEEP IS OVERRATED Yeah. That pretty much sums up the awesomeness of this book. City Spies has characters from all around the world (France, Nepal, Brazil, Australia, and America) and I could not NOT read it. They all range in age as well - twelve to fifteen years old. DIY Lip Balm - Tutorial

Aaaaand I'm back with another DIY post...this one doesn't have pictures but it is pretty straightforward. This is DIY lip balm and it is soooooo  easy! It literally requires two ingredients for the lip balm itself. It is so cute as well and really tasty. You can make strawberry lip balm, almond lip balm, chocolate lip balm, pineapple lip balm...it just depends on what you have. You can also make flower ones, but I'll go into that in a minute. So, what you will need is: 🌈Petroleum jelly; some people call it Vaseline 🌈Any essence; vanilla, strawberry, chocolate...the possibilities are endless! 🌈A sort of small container to keep you lip balm in 🌈Toothpick 🌈Spoon So, first you want to scoop some Vaseline in your container until it's full. Take your flavouring and add a few drops of it in the Vaseline; and then stir it with a toothpick or skewer; it depends on the amount of lip balm.
