Cake-It's Great Bake-Off

This is a story of 407 words that is going to be the start of my series "Cake-it". So stay tuned cause I am going to release more!

It was the day of Cake-It’s

Great  Bake-Off. Everyone was talking about it, and millions of tickets were bought. Hibiscus, one of the competiters, didn’t feel that excited. She had never been great at baking. Cake-It  was one of the world’s top leading kitchens, and she was going to compete right there! She felt really nervous.

There were butterflies in her stomach. This was only the first clash. There would be more until it was one to one. Suddenly a voice came through the speakers. “Will everyone please walk into the kitchen?” Hibiscus came second out of the doors. She was given her apron that she had brought with her, but her name was sewn on the top.

“You have one hour to make us a beautiful, never seen before cake.” One of the judges, Rose, said into the mic. “Your time starts…NOW!” Quickly Hibiscus rushed to the pantry. She was going to make a melting marshmallow cake. She grabbed eggs, sugar, flour, milk, baking powder and vanilla. Marshmallows and butter too.

That was all of it. She raced out and to her cooking station. She started meausuring and pouring the ingredients. She actually had her batter done before anyone! I can do this, she thought. She slammed the oven shut. Her cakes only needed to bake ten minutes.

After 10 minutes, her toothpick came out clean.

She took the cakes out and started frosting them with the white and pink frosting she had made while it was baking. She was done. And her cake looked fantastic! And she was done before anyone else! She looked at the clock. Five minutes to go. She couldn’t wait! One of the judges, Sara, called out “Time’s up!” They called Hibiscus forward.

Hibiscus came, carrying the cake. “We noticed you were done before anyone else. And your cake looks fantastic!” Said Rose. Hibiscus just smiled. They took a bite each. “Great!” Said Sara. “Beautiful!” Said Rose. “This is a marshmallow cake.” Said Hibiscus. “You may go.” Said Sara. They went on calling everyone’s cakes up.

Finally they said,”The best in here are Hibiscus, Feather and Sweetie. Two people will be out of the competition. Those two persons are Poppy and Areil.” Poppy and Areil left the kitchen. Hibiscus was so happy. As she went to her hotel where her family was staying, she was jumping for joy. If she went on like this, she would win the bake-off!
