Bake-It’s Semi-Finals!

 

Hibiscus had never felt more nervous. This was the semi-finals and there was only 4 girls left. They were, Hibiscus, Katy, Amaya, and Milly.  They lined up at the stations and fastened their aprons. “Your time starts….NOW!” shouted Sarah. Hibiscus rushed to the pantry. She needed to bake some kind of cookie and she had decided it was going to be a shortbread cookie. She grabbed all the ingredients. Hibiscus sprinted over to her station. Fast, fast, I can do this, she thought. Quickly she slid the tray into the oven.

After 10 minutes, she took it out. She iced the cookies and arranged them on a plate. As she was done with her cookies, she glanced at the others. They were not far behind. Just then, a tick sounded. “Everyone, stop!” shouted Rose. “Katy first.” Katy walked up. Hibiscus watched her closely. She heard compliments and she saw nodding and she saw smiles. Katy walked back to her station with an amiable smile. “Hibiscus.” Sarah called. Hibiscus clutched her plate. What was she going to do? She laid the plate on the judges’ small table. “Shortbread cookies.” Hibiscus replied their questioning faces promptly. “Wonderful.” Said Rose as she bit into a cookie. “Beautiful Hibiscus.” Sarah said. Hibiscus walked back. They surveyed the other girls. Hibiscus waited, and then Sarah spoke. “The girls who are going to the finals are Katy and Hibiscus.” Oh you should have seen Hibiscus, so happy! She was going to the FINALS!

As Hibiscus made her way to the hotel, she was bursting with joy.

City Spies - book review

 Hey! For some reason lately I've really been into espionage fiction - and when my Audible credit came up I chose this book. This is also, coincidentally, the first not-fantasy book I've read for a while, and it was nice to take a break from the genre. The cover looked pretty cool and who can miss out on such a diverse cast of main characters? I was not let down by any of it. City Spies was so fun and thrilling that I made up a joke to describe the ride to my friends. Joke below. Me: I should really get some sleep. Ten hours at least. Also me at three in the morning: OMG THIS BOOK IS SO EXCITING SLEEP IS OVERRATED Yeah. That pretty much sums up the awesomeness of this book. City Spies has characters from all around the world (France, Nepal, Brazil, Australia, and America) and I could not NOT read it. They all range in age as well - twelve to fifteen years old. DIY Lip Balm - Tutorial

Aaaaand I'm back with another DIY post...this one doesn't have pictures but it is pretty straightforward. This is DIY lip balm and it is soooooo  easy! It literally requires two ingredients for the lip balm itself. It is so cute as well and really tasty. You can make strawberry lip balm, almond lip balm, chocolate lip balm, pineapple lip balm...it just depends on what you have. You can also make flower ones, but I'll go into that in a minute. So, what you will need is: 🌈Petroleum jelly; some people call it Vaseline 🌈Any essence; vanilla, strawberry, chocolate...the possibilities are endless! 🌈A sort of small container to keep you lip balm in 🌈Toothpick 🌈Spoon So, first you want to scoop some Vaseline in your container until it's full. Take your flavouring and add a few drops of it in the Vaseline; and then stir it with a toothpick or skewer; it depends on the amount of lip balm.
