Hearts Of Enchantment: Part 3

Look, here's the next one! As evening fell, they mounted their bicycles and zoomed off. Moss got home first, since they all lived in Cherry Street. Marina waved good-bye as she rode into her yard, Flame and Doe parked their bikes in their yards.  Doe opened her door and the light flooded into the dark backyard. She sat down for dinner. As hot stew was ladled into her plate, she thought about what Wind and Flame had said. She remembered what Moss had said as well. A bright thought came into her mind. Fawn was tugging at the edge of her fawn-colored dress. She bent down. ‘Yes, Fawn?’ she asked. Fawn replied, ‘Can you give me some stew?’. Fawn was Doe’s seven-year-old sister. She had a habit of tugging at hems of T-shirts and dresses when wanting something. Doe ladled the stew into the plate. Fawn scurried to her place and left Doe alone to think about what she was thinking. What should it be, the power to remove all evil, hate, jealousy, bad intentions, and all other bad thin

Hearts of Enchantment: Part 2

I'm back with the second part of Hearts of Enchantment! I'll add more parts, i.e. part 3 and 4. It still needs more (I'm hoping to make it into a novella, or novel) but I'm posting what's got. I'm somewhere around 2000 words but it still needs more!                                                                            * * * “There, that’s the last of ‘em, Flame.” Wind said as Flame used her power to warm up everything.  The clothes were all folded and in a neat stack in the basket. Wind whipped up a cool breeze that made her hair go wild. Marina’s dark black hair, perfectly set on her shoulders was very unlike Wind’s messy, wavy blond hair. And it was not just because Wind kept all the Air going. Doe shook her own ginger hair neatly tied into a braid that ran down her back. “Who wants ice-cream cones?” she laughed. All the Power Girls shot their hands in the air.                                                                             * * *

My Super Sketch Tips

I love doing sketching and I've been doing it a lot recently. Maybe the occasional butterfly or strawberry OR flower. So, I've got plenty of tips for those who enjoy sketching, like me! I personally think that sketches are what matters most when it comes to good art. -Use pencils in multiple softness or use writing pencils. You should have a sharpener handy at all times. Don't waste the page - doodle more, sketch more. It's easy! -Draw the frame and proportions first. On a corner of the paper, write all of the details you plan to add. For example, if you're drawing a strawberry, draw the frame, course! -Add shading second-last. Remember, before shading, erase the frame, leaving the original shape behind. Add the intricate details last. If you're drawing something like a feather, which has no details, draw it without frame. -Use references. I find that references help me a heap during sketching. You don't need to copy the picture  exactly, just look

Arty Crafty Projects

Image
I’ve been making a lot of art projects recently and I have been going crazy with all of the art. Really, it’s hard but it pays out at the end. First is a wooden craft stick box that I made. How could you not love this. It’s beautiful, compact and I think it was quite easy to make. I just used UHU glue, bright poster paints and of course, craft sticks. I really enjoyed painting this because I mixed a lot of colors to make this beauty. This is a seashell that I made using a reference. It’s simple and its just a sketch. It was a bit challenging but I managed it in the end.  Here is another pencil sketch. This one is a monarch butterfly 🦋 that I made using a reference, again. It took some time but I really like the effect in the end!   I made this cupcake using a reference for the millionth time. It was hard to draw the frosting and that is probably why it looks a bit wobbly. But I managed to draw the wrapper and the lines on it. I think I’ll draw it digitally again sometime. This Japanes

Believe In Yourself

Believe in yourself Never doubt what you can do Believe in yourself It's tricky, but just try Believe in yourself To no end you should believe Believe in yourself From the first breath to the end of time Believe in yourself Don't drop down; just hold your hopes high Believe in yourself You can do anything just if you try to Believe in yourself It's something you can do Believe in yourself Don't think about failing; just succeeding Believe in yourself You don't have to prove it; you just have to believe Believe in yourself Hold your head high, but don't doubt Believe in yourself Know that it's only you Believe in yourself Who can make a change Believe in yourself Believe, believe  that you can do anything Believe in yourself

Haiku

I promised, that I would write a poem, and I fulfilled it. Maybe it's too short, but of-course Haikus are really short. If you don't know what a Haiku is, it's a short Japanese poem with three lines and in the first line there are 5 syllablles, the second one has 7, and the last on has 5 again. So it's a pattern: 5-7-5. Shoes Shoes are fun High heels, slippers Lace in, and done

Club Leadership

I'm sorry I'm posting so much club posts but I promise my next post will be poetry, not more clubs! But still, I thought that this would be helpful to all of you if you are leader of a club. It's tricky to be the leader. Always keep on guard and have all of the members in your sight or know-how. -Choose a monitor every week. (If you choose every month, they might get flustered). It's quite hard to choose a monitor because you have to be sure if they are loyal, hardworking, and attentive. It's the only way to gain help and the plans will go much faster if there is someone there to boost you. -Assign jobs depending on the person's strengths and weaknesses. For example, if someone is really good at dissuading enemies, he/she can be backup. If someone is good at organizing, assign him/her deputy to organize plans. -Make a sign and tape it to the club house to make your base. Enemies will try and get into it if they don't know it's your base. Remember,

Tips On Organizing A Club

I'm having a lot of club-work these days, with organizing the people (seriously there are about 14 now), and planning the meetings and assigning jobs and other stuff. Because I'm so caught up, I decided to write a post that might help you all - I know it's fun to have a club, but of course it's good hard work too! If you don't have a club and would like to start one, that's fine too. These are  street-smart tips that are not learned from books, just from my own experience. I don't have a guarantee for you that this might work also, so change it if needed to suit YOU! Starting The Club -You first need to choose which kind of club you want. I'm more good at running casual clubs than the more specific kinds, so this might focus more on that, but on the whole, I'm not really sure! -Ask friends that you might want to be in your club. It's always best to choose close friends first, with expanding after you've laid the first planks.

Girlz Club

Image
Me and my friends have a club called Girlz Club. In the playground in our compound, there is a playhouse where we hold our meetings. The soft fluffy swings' seats has broken, so we use those for sitting on. We take them to the playhouse, we climb up the ladder and we put them on the floors of the clubhouse. We then sit on them and have our meeting. I decided to make a small yard (well not really a yard) that is at the back of the playhouse. It's just a stretch of ground behind the clubhouse. We have about 10 people in our club. It's lucky the club has two floors, a swing, a slide, and underneath the ladder leading to the top floor, we store our bicycles, scooters, and things like that. We recently won against an opposing club, so we gained two members. Sometimes one person sits on the swing, one person sits on the foot of the slide, a few people downstairs, some upstairs. It's that crowded! In our Girlz Club we have celebrations of winning, have meetings about anythi

Sporty Digital Art!

Image
Here are some sporty pictures that I made on Paint. They were quite hard to make. But I like the outcome of all of the pictures. They took a looong time, but they were worth it. Click on them to see them in full-screen. Here is my favorite one. It's a football player, and she's bouncing the ball on her knee. I think this is a very lovely picture because it was more difficult to make then the other pictures, and I really love the pose of the girl. This one's a hockey player (National Pride!) and she's holding a hockey stick and she's about to hit the ball. I like this one because her hair really brings out against the purple - this creates a really sweet effect. This tennis player is so neat! Her white racket brings out the light blue background and the colors look really bold. I wanted to show that her hair is really shiny - that's why I added the white lines in her hair. I added different colored hair-ties which reflects her suit, and it also makes

Save the World!

There are so many problems around here, We don't know what to do, Well some of us know how to save the world, It's a responsibility that's for me and you, You don't know what it's like to have your home gone, You don't know what it's like to feel hungry, You don't know what it's like to be hunted upon, You just know that you're not wanting to change the world, Change it, Save it, That's what we have to do, Yes, change and save it, Put yourself in the shoes of a plant or animal, Then you'll know, What it's like, But to changing the world we just say "no, no" Try and you will find, Something worthy for me and you to do, Just try; don't give up on it, And we will save from the the "quack" of the duck to the cow's "moo". Here is where I got the inspiration for this poem: http://zainabsalmansiddiqui.blogspot.com/2015/04/save-animals.html

Hearts of Enchantment: Part 1

Okay, here is a loooong story I've been working on for days! I will post it in parts, so you've got to wait. So here you go................... So it says, the real way for you to become special is finding who you are. The PowerGirls recommend just that. There are five of these girls and each has a talent. Meet Wind, who has a talent for Air. Meet Marina, who has a talent for Water. Meet Flame, who has a talent for Fire. Meet Moss, who has a talent for Earth. Meet Doe, who has a talent for Animals. Each of the PowerGirls have a special heart jewel that lets them do their job. One day, Doe was playing with her pet bunnies when her mother called her for lunch. “Coming, Mom!” she replied as she locked the rabbits into the hutch. She raced into the house. Lunch was chicken salad on toast. “Mum, can I call Wind, Marina, Flame and Moss?” she questioned. “I could never see around those names, Doe,” her mother said. “By the way, you have to do all the laundry later, and I w

Malory Towers

Image
Malory Towers is a book series that I love. It is a school-story, as Enid Blyton would call it. I found a image at least, of the whole series. I'm getting so enwrapped in Enid Blyton's books. o So here you go! Authors:  Enid Blyton (SIX books are written by Pamela Cox) Summary: Darrell Rivers, a girl, starts out on her-school journey. She meets many people (in the school, of course) and goes through the the different forms, i.e. first, second third, and so on. She has two best friends, Sally and Mary-Lou, and she goes like this of course, with them, on and on and on until in Last Term at Malory Towers. Now, when she is in the Fourth Form, her younger sister appears. Last Term At Malory Towers Darrell leaves, but then her younger sister doesn't leave. She stays on, and the six last books are about her. But first six books are about Darrell. I hope you enjoyed reading this book review and see you soon!

Winter's Breath.....A List Poem

Since these winds have hit SA I am freezing! (Practically, I am going to become a ice cube :b). So, anyways, I am getting a bit inspired for my stories and poetry, which have been flashing into my mind for the last few days. So here you go.................. Winter's Breath Winter's breath Brings snowflakes in the air Winter's breath Causes icicles to form Winter's breath Makes stones of hail fall from the sky Winter's breath Forces cold winds to hit us Winter's breath Commands the trees shake their leaves and make them fall down Winter's breath Shows us the power of frosty ice Winter's breath Shoos away autumn and comes back with the cold Winter's breath Tells the warm days to become shorter and the freezing nights longer Winter's breath Once it is here we all slide in our sweaters Winter's breath

A Winter's Evening.......

I was just walking recently (Jeddah has gotten a chilling weather recently) and wind was whooshing onto me. I decided that why not write a short story about it? It's winter, so it fits perfectly! A WINTER'S EVENING............ _________________________________________________________________________________ "Rumaysa, can you please give this envelope to Mrs. Hope?" called my mother. "Okay!" I replied, full of enthusiasm for this. I knew that walking in the cold, harsh  winds would be freezing, but I hadn't been out for a bit of a while and actually wanted to taste the icy winds. I fetched the envelope, slipped my feet into my boots and decided to not wear my jacket, since I thought that it wouldn't be that cold outside. I opened the door and shut it behind me, slowly climbing down the stairs that were in the small apartment which had only four houses. I opened the door, and closed it quietly. I ran to get my bike, and mounted it. Just then,

New Year's Truth

As today is the new year, I decided that it's finally time to write a post about all the false celebrations in December 31 and 1st January. So let me tell you..................................................................... What do you think? All the money could be used for charity, all the food is probably wasted or is unhealthy for us, the countdown is deafening...it could wake up other people in the neighborhood, the fireworks money can be used for better things and it's dangerous, so many things! And at the top of the list, THIS IS NOT OUR CELEBRATION. So just why are we celebrating it? There are only so many years for this world. Why are you celebrating the loss of one of the years? Why, just why? It's all right to be excited for the New Year, since the number of the year changes, there are more things to look forward to, you get older, but why such hyperactivity? THAT is a question to think about. I hope you liked this post, and I hope you learnt some th
